About Us - RWOHFED

Our Story

Founded in 2018,Rural Women for Healthy Food and Economic Development (RWOHFED) emerged from a grassroots movement of rural women in Kelukwesi-Mgbonjo Village who recognized the need for sustainable development in their community.

Formed by rural women who came together with a common idea of how to improve on the food system and advocate for enabling environment for women to produce healthy food for their families and community, ensure food security, child protection, reduce on economic hardship among women and conserve the environment.

These will be done through advocacy and campaigns, capacity building trainings in mind set change, economic empowerments and lobbying.

To carry out research on issues affecting women and girls.
To promote gender justice.
To promote environmental protection and sustainability through waste management skills, tree planting and good farming practices for climate justice.
To disseminate information on issues related to the activities of the organization.

2018 - Foundation

RWOHFED was established by a group of rural women in Kelukwesi-Mgbonjo Village

Launched our first agricultural training and women's empowerment programs

Expanded to serve multiple villages across Adjumani District

Established partnerships with government agencies and other NGOs
